The Canadian Dam Association is proud to host the 87th Annual Meeting of the International Commission of Large Dams in Canada’s capital city of Ottawa. This continues our long tradition of collaboration with other National Committees of ICOLD and participation in the development of leading guidance for engineers and other professionals.
Canada is a country rich in water resources: it has over 10,000 dams and ranks fourth in the world in hydropower production. Canada is also a leading country in mining and the use of tailings impoundments. Canadian expertise in dam building and operation has contributed to developments around the world. Participation in ICOLD encourages the Canadian community to continue to learn and advance the state-of-practice, establish relationships, and expand international markets for Canadian consulting services and products.
